The location

A quiet village between Heraklion and the sea.

Gournes is a quiet village on Crete’s north coast, thirteen kilometres east of Heraklion — close enough to reach the capital in twenty minutes, far enough that evenings belong to the sea. The suites stand five hundred metres from the water, on the flat coastal plain between the beach and the old village.

The area keeps its everyday Cretan rhythm: bakeries and kafeneia in the morning, tavernas filling slowly after sunset. Hersonissos and its livelier waterfront lie ten minutes east, and Heraklion airport is ten kilometres away, so arrivals and departures stay painless.
